Tooth pain can make it difficult to eat, sleep or concentrate. Call 845-517-2358 to discuss an assessment at our Pomona practice. Tell the team when the pain started and whether you have swelling, fever or an injury.
When should I seek help?
Contact a dentist if pain persists, worsens, or comes with fever, pain when biting, a bad taste or swelling. If swelling affects your breathing or swallowing, or spreads around your eye or neck, seek emergency medical care. Call 911 for a medical emergency.
What can cause a toothache?
Possible causes include decay, a damaged tooth or filling, gum problems or an infection. Pain alone cannot identify the cause. A dental assessment helps determine what care is appropriate.
What happens at an assessment?
Your dentist will ask about the pain, examine your mouth and decide whether imaging is needed. Treatment depends on the findings. Ask about the recommended care, alternatives and costs before proceeding.
For an urgent concern, read our emergency dental information and call the office. If we cannot see you promptly, seek another available dental provider.
